Wind and solar farms south of Port Augusta

Uluru via Stuart Highway 2025

Just south of Port Augusta, we passed another wind and solar farm, generating power for local communities. No noise, smell, or breathing hazards.

Of course, it would be great if we could avoid any environmental impact. But this is way better than a giant coal mine and power station, or oil drilling.

  1. Some of the EV lovers are a bit touchy, I've just been booted from the ruined weekend page because of my comments on your post yesterday, bit sad if they can't handle a bit of truth, Ev's are okay but they are not saving the planet at the moment.

    1. Rodney Nixon got our EV because I simply didn’t drive the Audi RS enough to warrant keeping it.. the Tesla is super convenient compared without horrendous upkeep costs

  2. The benefits from oil production is obvious so I’d be a little less negative towards it.. we’re where we are because of it… solar and wind are supplemental imo..

    1. Ken MacDonald We also benefited from lead in petrol, and hydrofluorocarbons, but at some point we realised that the long term costs were too high, so we found less destructive options.

    2. Ken MacDonald We would be far more advanced if we embraced electric power the first time around. Artificially bought out and frozen by fossil industry interests.
