Erina Fair Thai, like old times

Fully Charged Sydney + Victoria 2023

We visited what used to be our major shopping centre (when we lived in the Central Coast until December). Delicious veg yellow curry and pineapple fried rice for dinner at Thai Thyme Erina Fair Restaurant.

Previously, when we lived nearby, we typically just charged at home overnight, without thinking about it. But now that we are visitors, I realise that there aren’t many public chargers in the area.

There are two free Tesla destination chargers at Erina Fair. They are positioned right at the car park entrance, which makes it a bit tricky to reverse park while holding up the entering traffic.

When we arrived, there was a Tesla Model 3, with a cool blue wrap (I guess it’s a wrap), checked into PlugShare. There was also a nice black Model X with personalised plates. But it was parked without plugging in to charge and with no check in to PlugShare. We waited a while and fortunately the owner returned and left the spot, so we could charge.

  1. You are quite lucky to charge there it’s mostly idle with ICE vehicles parked there

    1. Jon Bowly Oh really? I’ve only seen it full (and queued) with EVs.

    2. Jon Bowly Ah, I just noticed that most of the photos of this site in PlugShare are of ICEd spots (ie an internal combustion engine vehicle blocking the EV charger). That’s now subject to a $2200 fine, isn’t it?

      1. Tesla Tripping depends on whether it has the correct signage that looks like no standing sort of signs 🪧 - there are 2 types as opposed to just Tesla charging bays

      2. Jon Bowly Good point. The current signage doesn’t seem particularly clear. It should say something like “No standing, except for electric vehicle charging”. Can you fix this Erina Fair?

  3. And then there are days, like today, where both bays are available, but we’re fully charged 😉
