Maybe we found our new home in Emerald

We may have found our new home! In Emerald, Victoria. Beautiful street, town, nature walks. We had lunch at Sticks & Stones Cafe, parked the Tesla with the backdrop of some giant trees, walked along the path that would lead from caffeine back to our potential home. Then, on to Puffing Billy, through Emerald Lake Park, past the wishing well and Nobelius Heritage Park, back to town to grab the car.

Charging

Eight panels! That’s not much of a solar array! We’ll be filling that north facing roof with solar panels, to power the house, with battery back up, and charge the car. We’ll be pulling out all the gas. We’ve started seeking quotes for the conversions. That’s assuming all goes well with home loan, inspections etc.

  4. Great place. Love the big roof for the solar. Definitely need backup power with the battery system. To be honest, I don’t like dirt roads with nice cars.

    1. David Posavec Yes, hoping we can get high kW from that roof.

Fortunately, it’s only about 50m of dirt between the main road and our (potential) driveway.

  8. Hope you are able to buy the home, it looks like a beautiful place to live.

I found it much cheaper to get my gas supply locked off than to have the gas service physically removed.

    All the best. Hugh

  11. Congratulations guys, I used to stay there often as a child as close friend in my street had a holiday home there, but you will need to buy some warm clothes as it does get very cold .

  12. Congratulations 🥳 Yep the panels look a bit small for such a large roof space.
